I visited Dr. Verhagen with my children for three years. The children were never scared to go there and always happy when they left. I consider that a win. The only problem came with my four year old with special medical needs. He had several cavities. Dr. Verhagen said he not cooperative and she was unable to do a full exam. She suggested general anesthesia at the hospital so she could examine, radiograph, and repair cavities. I tried to schedule it with her office staff, but was frustrated by their poor communication and lack of getting back to me in a timely manner. Ultimately, we ended up taking him to another pediatric dentist in the area and they were able to examine, radiograph, and repair four cavities with no sedation or anesthesia. I then transferred all of my children to the other pediatric dentist.
Very happy with the dentist. Then lady at the front looks like she hates her life. I asked if I could go grab my son's prescription her answer was you don't leave until your child does. I really can't stand talking to her. Bitter women.
Dr. Verhagen and her staff are terrific. We have a child with special needs and we are always welcomed back to sit with him during exams. They are very gentle and keep their voices soft. He has had two teeth pulled and is not afraid of going to the dentist! That speaks volumes!
They will not under any circumstances let the parents back with the kids. We went to another dentist and my six year old likes the. new one because "they don't hold you down".
Nice office. Friendly desk staff. But when your daughter says that it hurts, and the dental staff covers her mouth with their hands because she is crying, and say "stop crying your going to scare the other kids" It might be time to find another dentist!
Horrible experience!! Avoid this office
