Tom Blake and the entire Nexes Realty team are shady, devious people and will say and do anything to get you to sign your life away on a bad deal. The house I "bought" had terrible structural problems and Tom Blake was in cahoots with the inspector and the insurance agency. The inspector was friends with him and upon me asking the inspector if the house was a good fit for a single mother, he replied (verbatim), "Well, I don't want to lose a sale for Tom." I said, "What did you just say??" He back-tracked and eventually told me, "Yes, the house is fine." (Blake) then informed me that regulations require that I must have insurance to close on my house, so he again sent me to his "choice" of insurance agent whom didn't even look at my inspection report and handed me a paper stating I have coverage. During the closing, I came across a peice of paper that said "Buying As Is." I asked what it was and (Blake) told me, "All house closings contain that." So I signed away. It is now to my understanding that, NO, not all house closing docs contain that! So, guess what happens a month after I closed? Not only did my roof leak like a gigantic colander, but I also get a notice in the mail from my insurance company stating they don't want to cover me because my roof was bad. I thought, no big deal I'll find another one, right? Well, every insurance agency I called told me that before signing me up they HAVE to come out and look at the house, and when they did, they rejected me. It's the law that I have to have insurance, so my mortgage company forced me into their default insurance which only covers the immediate dwelling and cost me 5x the cost of my original insurance, raising my monthly payments hundreds of dollars a month leaving me with no money to fix my roof and no other choice but to foreclose. Tom Blake is nothing more than a SNAKE. He knew exactly what he was doing and I cannot believe he shows his face in St. Francis Church every Sunday and speaks the word of GOD on his forked tongue. It's no wonder why his wife wanted to leave him and I honestly don't know how he sleeps at night knowing he put a single mother in a terrible pit like that.
Choose another reality company!! I had a house chosen and was getting ready to close on it. My realtor David Spyke told me the house had an occupancy permit and that I could move in after I closed. So I gave Nexus the down payment and planned to close. Just before we were supposed to close the city contacted me and told me that the house does not have an occupancy permit (my realtor lied). Since I could not move in the home I didn't want to buy any more. I told my realtor I didn't want the house anymore, and he told me he would not refund my down payment, despite the fact that David lied to me through out the entire process. I should've known better they have a horrible reputation of ripping people off, even having one realtor killed at their office. STAY AWAY!!!
