In house service excellent, would recommend
But I just wanted my laptop back, I didn't say anything about the power cord issue.
Got a good deal here on a new computer. They also seem to be very knowledgeable, more so than some of their "competition" when it comes to knowledge about problems with your computer. Their charges for service as also reasonable for the services they provide. I don't hesitate in recommending this business for anything you need in the line of computers and/or service.
The worker I dealt with was male, he isn't friendly at all, especially if you're not knowledgeable about computers. He seemed really ready to argue with me about my power cord too! Thank god it was marked on paperwork that I had brought it in!
Got back to me a day later, explained it was a hinge and nothing else was damaged. I gave the okay to fix it, five or so days later came in, paid for everything.
No, I didn't bother calling them this time. Every time I was getting it back, something was broken. I asked around my friends and found someone they knew who was extremely good with computers and could help (because I couldn't afford another fix after just paying for this one, $160 by the way).
I wouldn't ever go here again for repairs.
I called and he said to bring it back in.
I told him I had given my power cord to them. He immediately said I didn't, and I'm pretty sure he would have left it at that if he didn't look at my paperwork and see he marked that I did.
Took him HALF AN HOUR to find where he had shoved the damn thing. He was running around, looking everywhere for it. You didn't keep it with the computer? Looked and sounded like he just had a bunch of them shoved in boxes. I'm not even really sure if I got back MY power cord when he finally came up with something.
When I returned home I immediately noticed a dent in the corner after running my hands on it. The edge of the back casing of the laptop (the part that needed to be replaced since the hinge was broken on it) was curled inwards. It was EXTREMELY hard to notice. I would not have cared about the backing being dented either, but the curled edge was pushing out the screen and causing some white bleeding in pixels.
The issue I brought my computer in for was when my mom was closing the laptop it made a crunching sound. I had immediately turned off the laptop and brought it in the next day. Explaining I was pretty positive it was a hinge issue, but I was not 100%. He had said it seemed like a hinge problem, that not touching it and bringing it right in was good. He told me he would check to see what was all damaged and get back to me.
Used them 4 times now... different computer each time...good price...has made me happy each tome...did a good job...only 4 stars because I have a hard time getting out of the parking lot.
My friend's buddy took apart my laptop and found several wires to my screen that had been pulled out of place to allow him to fix the hinge issue had not been put back properly. So when I had opened my laptop they had been stretched and pulled around, breaking the connection, the wires were getting pinched and ruined because they were just loosely stuck by the hinge. Nearly all the screws were stripped and one was missing, they were not like this before.
THEN he told me 'i had to put some padding between the screen and back, really had to bend it around' So they did not bother taking off the laptops backing THEY JUST LEFT IT ON AND WAS FORCING IT AROUND.
Excellent service.
Took this person not even two hour to put things back properly and put in new screws for me, worked flawlessly ever sense. Even the touchscreen was back.
Got home, laptops touch screen wasn't working, I was just going to bite the bullet on this one because I don't really use it anyways. And I did not want to ever go back to that place. NOT EVEN A DAY LATER MY ENTIRE SCREEN GOES PITCH BLACK. Laptop is on and working, screen isn't. So it's basically useless.
Four days later I got a call that my laptop was finished. I came in, he showed me there was a bit of cosmetic damage (I was completely fine with that, I just wanted my machine in working order).
I just thanked him, left. I didn't want to have anything to do with them anymore.
Finally, after that mess, I got my laptop back.
I don't think they dented the laptop at all, it looks like something that happened in transit of someone else shipping the part to them. But when I brought it home it went straight into a padded case that was buckled into my backseat, so I know it wasn't me.
When I brought the laptop in he Immediately he gave me attitude about the dent 'definitely not happening there' but they would 'take care of it anyways'.
