A Great spot to take your dogs to enjoy the beach! It's a bit of a hike if you're not in decent health but if you can keep up with your running dogs you should be fine. You can setup camp up the beach a bit and enjoy a full day there with only a few walkers and a bunch of dogs to interrupt you.
Great family and dog friendly beach. Was very clean and had a great time here. Swimming was also nice and there was plenty of room even on a beautiful weekend day.
I looooove taking my dog here! They have a nice family beach and they have a spacious section for dogs to play on. My beagle loves running up and down the dunes and into the water. It's usually never busy or loud. Only bad thing I've ever experienced was other peoples dogs who were a bit aggressive running around, but I've only experienced that once in my 5+ years going there.
It is a great dog beach, however, we had one dog owner who arrived with two large black lab mixes (Buster and Bae) that kept running all over the beach, stepping on people, trying to hump their dogs, wouldn't come when called, ran up the stairs towards the parking lot, were a HUGE nuisance and ruined it for the responsible pet owners who were trying to enjoy the beach. Next time we will bring pepper spray and let the owner know this. If your dog can't behave, keep it on a leash at all times.
My dog had an amazing time and it's an absolutely wonderful place. Driving 2 hours just to get to this beach was well worth it. The dog area was clearly marked, bags for poop pick up were available, and humans were allowed to sit and enjoy themselves as well. The water was clear, people were friendly and it was all around fun. Definitely a go to spot. Dogs are allowed off leash in the water and are required to be on leash in the sand. Beautiful view as well!
